Marcelo has extensive experience in cross-border financing, aircraft and other asset-based finance, project finance, and debt restructuring/workouts, representing a wide range of clients such as banks, ECAs, hedge funds, airlines, and leasing companies, as well as other debt, mezzanine, and equity investors sitting all across the capital structure
Before starting Nantes Mello Advogados, Marcelo has held Structured Finance lawyers positions at the elite law firms Pinheiro Neto Advogados and Mattos Filho Advogados. From 2013 to 2016, Marcelo held positions in the investment banking industry at Deutsche Bank and Credit Suisse, in São Paulo and New York.
Marcelo received his MBA from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University (where he was granted a merit scholarship by the Brazilian think tank Instituto Ling) and earned a Bachelor of Laws Degree from the Catholic University of São Paulo.
